Julia M. Hung
Criminal Defence Lawyer
Julia was born and raised in the beautiful city of Vancouver, BC. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia where she double majored in Philosophy and Psychology. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from the UBC Allard School of Law.
Prior to graduating, Julia demonstrated her passion for legal advocacy as a full-time clinician and Operations Director of the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (L.S.L.A.P.). She also had the unique opportunity to be a judicial intern at the BC Provincial Courts where she assisted judges in memo writing and legal research.
After being called to the bar, she worked for Cobb St. Pierre Lewis, a North Vancouver firm specializing in complex cases dealing with Charter issues in areas such as Unlawful Arrest and Detention, Search and Seizure, and Right to Counsel. She then joined Sicotte & Associates where she developed her provincial Court practice. She has now established her own firm based out of Surrey, B.C.

Julia has significant experience giving legal advice prior to charges being laid, during an arrest, as well as working on helping clients get released on bail. She has assisted clients on all kinds of criminal and administrative charges, including serious ones such as manslaughter, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, robbery, drug trafficking, firearms charges, arson, aggravated assault. She has experience appearing in all different levels of court in British Columbia.

Julia is a member of the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society (C.D.A.S.), the Surrey Bar Association (S.B.A.), and the Association for Legal Aid Lawyers (A.L.L.).
